U are right about not marrying an Italian---trying to find a nice Italian guy in California is like trying to find good pizza here, it just doesn't exist. Besides, surviving an Italian father is enough for me!

Glad that you can share such informative comments and set the facts straight. I look forward to reading more of what you have to share! I really wish I had a question for you; Right now I am doing family research, finding Ellis Island records, census records, WW2 draft cards, etc. Lemme know if you like doing that kind of research and I'll send you a couple of links.

I never have been to Brooklyn, always wanted to go. My father hung out there in his earlier years but he won't tell me any stories especially the story about how he got bullet holes in his car. He's the only one in the family from Jersey who has a Brooklyn accent. So you can imagine how different we are living out here in California.

Ciao.

Suprise. Suprise. A nice one too. Almost forgot I'd written to welcome you to the cite.Thank you for appreicating my comments inasmuch as they are, for the most part, sincere comment on the life itself. Most people do not understand how, back in the day, Italian families had to walk in the gutter--we weren't allowed on the sidewalk. My father explained to me how it sickened him so that, when he heard of a guy downtown in Brooklyn who was fighting back he went to him and ask for help. Mr. Albert A. gave my father a brown paper-bag with a device in it. My father stated to me that he thought that it contained a stink bomb but it actually contained a bomb that blew out all the windows for 4 blocks around--after that it was Mr. Conforti.

P.S. Thou doest protest to much--would that you had met a man like your father; he would never have gotten away. Ciao

hey leonard, hope you are good my friend..carmine persico and vic amuso still cling on to the title as boss of there familys, vic is 76 and jr 78 i think..these two caused a lot of killings and turmoil in the time they went to prison..carmine was a good boss at first but was in and out of the can for a lot of the time he became boss..we know the history of the colombo war with vic orena, wild bill and little allie boy and many others you know that were involved leonard,do you think its time he named a replacment or do you think the colombos are more or less done as one of the five..as for little vic,wat a mistake he was.tony ducks wanted buddy, but vic and gas sent him bye bye,so christy vouches for them as good people to run the borgata but all they done was run it down, the two tommys would have thought, wat the F..K.yet amuso still clings to power,or is it really power..more than likely its the $..have a word with him leonard, tell em there is a wonder boy waiting in the wings..

Like he, the snake, doesn't know what's up! These guys are not playing with a full deck and life is so unimportant to them when its the other guy how could they be expected to relinquish power. 4 what its worth, these modern guys are all ego maniacs. From experience I know. Their way or else is how it shapes up but they aren't qualified to lead; their power is violence and when that doesn't work, and it doesn't always work, their shit does stink. Also disagree with the snake ever being a good leader; he double crossed president street and anyone else who got in his way. And he was never liked or respected by the others.  Murder is not as an effective weapon as you might imagain because it is a double edged sword!!!  Personally, "I never liked the guy;  nor did he like me."  Smiling.  As 4 Vic, I never knew him one way or the other; so no comment.

hello leonard, how you doing..leonard i was under the impression that the five familys that we know by name today, have kept the name of that family because they were the bosses at the time of joe valachi giving his evidence to the mcClellan committee in 1963..ive just read bill bonannos last testament in which he states that it was 1954 at a commission meeting at joe maglioccos home that the names of the familys were named there and then..ive read all of bonannnos books, father and son and they love a bit of poetic license i think..any way leonard take care my friend..

Interesting, of course, but how then did Profaci become Columbo?  Futhermore, Carlo G. would not have appreciated that recognition!!!  After Abba Shots Jr. was arrested and it came out that his car was bugged it was attributated to Carlo to have said that, "My name better not be on those tapes!"  Bill was a wannabe but never capable of it. Imagain using someone else's credit card with the $'s attributated to his "Family." Come on, "A joke is a joke but nobody wants to die laughting.'

The sun is always shining here in Cali. (except for today, supposed to rain which will freak everybody out esp. on the roads) Southern Cal is probably the best place to live during the winter months. Nice dry climate not humid like Florida! 70 degrees every day. Take a trip out here this time of year instead of freezing your cogliones off back east:) My Dad would love the company! He's a great cook too! He loves to reminisce about old times just not with me!

Ciao!
