DaLenosgirl said… U are right about not marrying an Italian---trying to find a nice Italian guy in California is like trying to find good pizza here, it just doesn't exist. Besides, surviving an Italian father is enough for me!
Glad that you can share such informative comments and set the facts straight. I look forward to reading more of what you have to share! I really wish I had a question for you; Right now I am doing family research, finding Ellis Island records, census records, WW2 draft cards, etc. Lemme know if you like doing that kind of research and I'll send you a couple of links.
I never have been to Brooklyn, always wanted to go. My father hung out there in his earlier years but he won't tell me any stories especially the story about how he got bullet holes in his car. He's the only one in the family from Jersey who has a Brooklyn accent. So you can imagine how different we are living out here in California.
Ciao.

Almost forgot I'd written to welcome you to the cite.Thank you for appreicating my comments inasmuch as they are, for the most part, sincere comment on the life itself. Most people do not understand how, back in the day, Italian families had to walk in the gutter--we weren't allowed on the sidewalk. My father explained to me how it sickened him so that, when he heard of a guy downtown in Brooklyn who was fighting back he went to him and ask for help. Mr. Albert A. gave my father a brown paper-bag with a device in it. My father stated to me that he thought that it contained a stink bomb but it actually contained a bomb that blew out all the windows for 4 blocks around--after that it was Mr. Conforti.
P.S. Thou doest protest to much--would that you had met a man like your father; he would never have gotten away. Ciao

(except for today, supposed to rain which will freak everybody out esp. on the roads) Southern Cal is probably the best place to live during the winter months. Nice dry climate not humid like Florida! 70 degrees every day. Take a trip out here this time of year instead of freezing your cogliones off back east:) My Dad would love the company! He's a great cook too! He loves to reminisce about old times just not with me!
Ciao!
