Estimate members:
First Boss: Filippo "Phil" Amari
Primary activities: Extortion, gambling, drugs, loansharking, Union corruption.
Boss: Giovanni "John the Eagle" Riggi (in prison, scheduled for release in 2012.)
Acting Boss: Francesco Guarraci, a 51 year old Sicilian immigrant, who works as a foreman in Laborers' Local 394 (which has been placed under trusteeship, after an independent hearing officer determined it continued to be controlled by organized crime.) Guarraci isn't named as boss in DeCavalcante organizational charts at all of New Jersey's law-enforcement agencies. Comment by Simone R. DeCavalcante Jr. on April 25, 2012 at 10:40pm Yes the Soprano's was based on the DeCavalcante Family. Our thing was not portrayed as the old man ran it. But hell HBO had to make the show sell. Being Sam's son I know that hollywood had it's way with it and it was not a very welcome thing some of what was used to base the show on. Thankfully they did not go into the life as it really is and expose what was the truth and really happened.
Comment by DaLenosgirl on May 16, 2012 at 11:11pm I always hoped they would do a prequel to the Soprano's...just loved the episodes of the good ole' days with "Johnny Boy" Soprano. Ya never know.
