Complex Twin Peaks Bandidos biker trial nearing start

By Gangsters Inc. Editors

It’s been almost two years since bikers of the Bandidos and Cossacks motorcycle clubs were involved in a violent shootout at a Twin Peaks restaurant in Waco, Texas, that left nine dead and many more wounded. Around 155 people were indicted on charges related to the shooting and have had their patience tested facing an uncertain future as they anxiously await the beginning of their trial.

Fortunately, for whatever that is worth in a criminal case, the long wait is almost over. The first trial is scheduled to begin on April 17, and will probably see one of three members of the Bandidos chapter in Dallas, Texas, in court to face charges.

The Waco Tribune reports that “Judge Ralph Strother of Waco’s 19th State District Court will preside over the first trial.” Fellow Judge Matt Johnson will then try the next Twin Peaks case in June. When that is over with the two judges will alternate trying a Twin Peaks case every month.

For more on the complexities of this case, we refer you to this excellent piece in the Waco Tribune written by reporter Tommy Witherspoon.
