Gregory Scarpa was known as one of the most prolific hitmen in the history of the American Mafia. Nicknamed The Grim Reaper, he left a trail of dead bodies during his years in New York’s Colombo crime family. Strangely enough, at the exact same time he was whacking his rivals, he was also a prized informant for the FBI.

At Gangsters Inc. we have covered his story extensively – read Scarpa’s profile here – and we have high expectations for the upcoming movie about the mob capo’s life titled “Scarpa” starring Sylvester Stallone as The Grim Reaper himself.

Stallone - who is coming off the critically acclaimed Creed, in which he portrays the iconic Rocky Balboa once more - will be accompanied by director Brad Furman and producer Irwin Winkler.

Better yet, the script for Scarpa is written by none other than Nicholas Pileggi, screenwriter of classics Goodfellas and Casino.
