I'm surprised noone's written a book on "Mad" Sam.The guy was one of The Outfit's top enforcers and Tony Spilotro's mentor.A walking nightmare who enjoyed watching people beg and suffer,he was eventually killed by his own people for being too unstable,but in the early '60s having his heyday tearing stuff up.For some good background reading on Destefano FBI agent William Roemer (hope I spelled that right),tells some stories in his books.
